Buratai inaugurates board for Agwai peacekeeping centre

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has inaugurated the Board of Trustees of Martin Luther Agwai Leadership and Peace Keeping Centre at the military cantonment, Jaji, Kaduna state.

The 5-man committee is headed by the former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (rtd). 

Buratai charged the members to maintain the quality of the centre in training military and paramilitary personnel in leadership and  peace keeping operations.

The COAS also inaugurated the Nigerian Army Aviation Hangar at the cantonment airstrip for parking and maintainance of Nigerians Aviation aircrafts.

The hangar will serve as parking area for the aircraft use during training of airborne personnel at the military cantonment.

“This is the first step of the realisation of the Nigerian Army Aviation though we are yet to have our platforms,” the army chief said. 

“The project is captured in the 2018 budget…and the Nigerian Army Aviation is part of the Order of Battle (ORBAT) 2016.

The COAS also said the army would also build an hangar and runway in Bama, Borno state, due to the nature of the security challenges in the North-east.
