Bwari LEA to enhance pupils’ enrolment

Executive Secretary of Local Education Authority (LEA) in-charge of Bwari area council, Mr. Solomon Ayuba Dagami, has said that appropriate measures were being put in place to increase pupils’ enrolment in the area.
He disclosed this to Blueprint on Tuesday in Bwari , explaining that the local authority had begun to tackle the problems stopping children from attending school.
According to him, these include child labour, teenage pregnancy and school dropout.
The education secretary also noted that instructional materials, contraction of more class room blocks, inspections and monitoring of schools on
resumption, among others, were being carried out.

He tasked parents to complement the efforts of government by sending their children to school, just as he implored teachers to always regard the pupils as their own children by impacting requisite knowledge and grooming them.
The LEA secretary reiterated commitment on the training and re-training of the staff and teachers of the local authority, and charged them to embark on research to equip themselves with the modern methods of teaching.
Dagami also called on the head teachers to ensure that teachers prepared lesson plans before going to class, warning that the local authority would not condone indiscipline and improper conduct in the schools.
He appreciated the chairman of the council, Hon. Musa Dikko, for his giant strides in improving the standard of basic education in the Council.
