Rivers United is poised to square off against Burkina Faso’s Etoile Filante in the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup on September 15, 2023 in Burkina-Faso.
Etoile Filante secured their ticket to the next round after a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Senegal’s Casa Sports Ziguinchor at the AU Stade De La Paix De Bouake on Sunday.
The Burkinabes club’s advancement was sealed through the away goals rule, a testament to their tenacity on the field.
Their initial encounter had resulted in a 1-1 draw in Senegal.
Etoile Filante will kick off the first leg by hosting Rivers United on Saturday, September 15 while reverse fixtures will hold at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo a week later.
