CAFCC: Enugu Rangers crash out after Sportif defeat, to face NPFL

Rangers International football club of Enugu, the only Nigerian team lost 1 – 0 to visiting Club Sportif of Tunisia in CAF Confederation Cup on matchday six in group stage.

Rangers created many scoring chances but could not convert any. Only one chance for Sfaxien was converted.

Rangers Coach Olugbenga Ogunbote said: “luck wasn’t on the side of Rangers today. We did all we could do but our efforts couldn’t workout for us”.

Rangers ended her campaign on 3rd position where two teams are to qualify for the quarter- final from Group B.

CS Sfaxien of Tunisia ended 1st with 12 points while Étoile du Sahel of same Tunisia also qualified with nine points leaving Rangers on the 3rd position with five points before Salitas of Burkina Faso with four points.

Rangers will now concentrate on the Nigeria Professional Football League, 2019 Season, where they have backlog of matches.

Rangers have gotten back the two previous slots for Nigeria in the CAF Confederation Cup by qualifying for the group stage, likewise Lobi Stars in the CAF Champions league.
