The All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Presidency have been advised to call Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state to order.
Eze Soronnadi Nwabueze Ezewuiro, the lord mayor of Igbo nation and in the Diaspora, who addressed newsmen in Calabar, yesterday, faulted the governor’s directives to destroy markets and other public structures, and for appointment of his siblings into key positions.
Ezewuiro, who also condemned rampant construction of statues of some foreign leaders in Imo state, said the governor seemed to have lost focus and has done much harm to the psyche of the people.
He accused the governor of impoverishing the people, adding that he and other traditional rulers were out to ensure that Okorocha’s many schemings and alleged fraudulent antics were nipped in the bud.
According to the monarch, who is also addressed as His Imperial Majesty, “Rochas is not qualified to be addressed as Owelle, which is an Anambra state title. He has imposed himself as an emperor, dethroning and caging most traditional rulers and stakeholders, and also destroying late Sam Mbakwe’s legacies, so that it is no longer what it used to be.”
He said, “not only is he wasting our resources to build needless statues of foreign, corrupt leaders like Jacob Zuma, he is killing our youths and destroying our markets. All these, we will stop him. We will also stop him from imposing his son-in-law as possible successor.”
He also lamented that the Mbaise area of the state has never produced a governor or deputy governor, yet the Orlu-Okigwe-Mbaino axis of the state where Okorocha hails from, has completely dominated other parts of the state.
