Calling on Radio Nigeria

My text message was wrongly read on the last edition of your network programme known as: “Radio Link”. Th e programme was broadcasted on Saturday morning, August 12, 2017, and the discussion was on checking and curtailing the spread of drug abuse in the country. After hearing how the message was wrongly read, I quickly sent another message to call the attention of the presenter so that he can recast the message but unfortunately, he didn’t.

Th erefore, the following was my text message, regarding the topic featured on the programme for discussion. “Let the people know that taking of more than required drug as prescribed by the doctor when ill is also drug abuse”. Th ereafter, below was how the message was presented. “How can taking of the more than required drug constitute drug abuse”? However, looking at how my text message was read, one don’t need to be told that my message was rendered useless and people who listened to the programme and precisely, the way my text message was translated, can defi nitely question my educational background. Nevertheless, Radio Nigeria should note that the mistake made by her presenter on my text message has lowered my self-esteem in the eyes of the public. So, I am appealing that the message in question should be revisited and the correct one should be read on the next edition of the programme. An apology should also be accompanied with the correction of the message. Awunah Pius Terwase, Abuja
