CAN prays for Leah Sharibu’s safe return

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Yobe state chapter yesterday organised intercessory prayers for the safe return of Leah Sharibu, one of the Dapchi school girls being held by the Boko Haram insurgents, who had released 105 other captives.
Acting state chairman of CAN, Rev. Hassan Mohammed said “hope has not yet been lostas some had stayed in the terrorists’ captivity for years and were still released.
“I therefore call on you to keep praying while we urge the federal and state governments to expedite action to rescue Leah just as it was done to her mates because she too is a Nigerian.
” Shortly in an interview, mother of the girl, Mrs Rebecca Nathan Sharibu, thanked the entire Christians and Dapchi community for their prayers and called on the federal government to redouble its efforts in rescuing her daughter.
“I really thank all the people around the world who are praying for my daughter’s safe return.
I am praying for the terrorists too not to die but to understand that they too are God’s creation.
” On the speculation that her daughter was released some weeks ago,Rebecca Sharibu told Blueprint: “On that fateful day, those who came to visit us were asked to leave our premises that Leah was on her way and up till today there is no news of her release or was there any government delegation that visited our home.
” Those who spoke to Blueprint said God could change the situation as they anticipate the return of Leah to reunite with her family
