Canadian group wants Obiano to investigates Oraifite crisis

United Anambra Association of Canada (UAAC), a n umbrella body of Anambra state indigenes resident in Canada, have condemned the recent crisis at Oraifite, Ekwusigo LGA of the state which led to loss of lives and properties, and urged Governor Willie Obiano to constitute an independent panel to investigate its remote and immediate course.

UAAC, in a release made available to journalists in Awka on Monday, bemoaned that the incident which occurred on December 2 at the homes of Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Counsel to the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, would have been prevented if handled professionally.

The release co- signed by Chief Chuks  Ejikeme and Mr Ifeanyi Ilukwe, President and Public Relations Officer of the association, said the development did not portray the image of the state in a good light before the international community.
It, however, commiserated with the police and others who lost lives and properties to the incident, appealing to the force to handle the case with international best practices principle, while enjoining the citizens never to take laws into their hands.
