Candido declares for second term

Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019.
“I will like to respond to your clarion call for me to come out and seek reelection in 2019. I wish to offer myself once again to serve my people in this council as you have demonstrated your trust in me,” he said during a town hall meeting in Apo yesterday.
The town hall was part of events organised to celebrate his two years anniversary in office.
He said he seeks reelection in order to complete “the good work we have started in taking this council to its dreamland.”
While taking a scorecard of his performance in office, he said more than 10 roads were constructed, graded or rehabilitated.
He said regardless of financial constraints, the council shall serve the people as they are bound by their oath of office.
In his remarks, All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in AMAC, Abbas Baba, commended Candido for his efforts in delivering the dividends of democracy to the residents.
He said the party is proud of his achievement and urged residents to support him in repositioning the council.
Speaking with newsmen at the occasion, member, Representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Area Council and Ancillary Matters, Hon. Zaphaniah Jisalo, said he is in support of Candido for his second term bid, commending the Chairman on his development stride, adding that he would continue to use his legislative connection to made sure Hon Candido to continue to give dividend of democracy to the people of AMAC.
