The Acting Chief Judge, Federal High Court Abuja, Hon. Justice John Tsoho has attributed the rancour-free adjudication recorded by his administration to the decision made by his predecessor and former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Rt. Hon. Justice Abdu Kafarati.
Tsoho made the observation on Tuesday at the 35th Annual Federal High Court Judges’ Conference held in Abuja.
According to him, the former Justice Kafarati deserved credits on the way and manner most of the pre-election matters were handled, saying that the directive and adherence to it helped remove the judges from the critical eye of the public.
He said, “I wish to use this opportunity to congratulate your Lordships on the way and manner most of the pre-election matters were handled. Most of the cases were adjudicated without rancor.
“The credit as well goes to the former Chief Judge, who directed that no injunctive relief must be granted ex-parte.
On the appointment of new Judges, he assured that efforts would be made to see that new Judges are appointed not only to help achieve the court’s goal, but to also adjudicate pending cases efficiently.
While commending President Muhammadu Buhari for his appointment in acting capacity, he called for the support of all for his administration success.
In his brief remark, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Tanko Muhammad, reminded the Judges that much was expected from them in the discharge of their responsibility.Represented by Justice Shuaibu Muhammed of the Court of Appeal, the CJN tasked the judges saying: “Redouble your effort in discharging your judicial function.”
