Catholics in Plateau task FG on security

The chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Jos North chapter, Rev Canon Nenman Gowon, said they gathered at the Jos Wrang Pam township stadium to mourn with their fellows in Benue, as the killed priests were being buried. He said the special prayer was also for the release of Leah Sharebu, from the captivity of Boko Haram. “We are here to mourn with our brothers and sisters in Benue state, who are being killed in the Church. Second, we have to also pray that Leah Sharebu, still in the captivity of Boko Haram, is release,” he said. According to him, they also gathered to cry out to the government that they were being attacked in the state by enemies of the land.

He said the government is not doing enough in the aspect of security, stressing that they would continue to pray. “We charge the government to increase and intensify the security of the state,” he tasked.
