CBN to disburse N1bn to 100 cooperatives in Zamfara

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) is to disburse N1 billion to different co-operative farmers, artisans, artists, writers, processors, societies and unions in Zamfara state as part of federal government effort to engage Nigerians became self reliant.
This was made known by the National Co-ordinator, Agro Allied Co-operative Matters of Nigeria, Prof. Queen V.A. Adesuyi Aladejobi, who was represented by Hajiya Hadiza Musa Na-Allah, North west Coordinator and National Director, International Marketing Agro-Allied, at a one-day sensitization/training programme for cooperative farmers, artisans, artists, writers, processors, societies
and unions, held in Gusau Yesterday.
Prof. Aladejobi further stated that the theme of the training was “Entrepreneurship/Business Development and Empowerment.”

She said the training was through Agro Allied Commodities and Services Producers Nigeria Ltd, on the disbursement utility and payment of MSME loan of N220 billion of the federal government through the CBN for national empowerment.
She then appealed to Zamfara state government to establish a marketing board that could regulate the price of farm products, stressing that when established, the board will add values and encouragement to
farmers engaged themselves into agribusiness every year.
In his response, the Zamfara state Governor, Abdulaziz Yari, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Abdullahi Shinkafi promised to give all the necessary support to the agro-
allied programme to attain the predetermined objectives.
