A registered youth organisation on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) known as APC Youth Connect, has commended the Court of Appeal over the decision not to uphold the judgment of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on 15- count charge against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki.
While commending the judiciary, the youth group described as “facetious, jocularly and preposterous,” expressing confidence that the remaining three count charges against the Senate President “will be a strode in the park.”
In a statement signed yesterday in Abuja, Chairman of the group, Barr. Oscar Obi and Secretary, Hajia Farida Suleiman Odangi, urged the Senate President not to be deterred “by whatever antics that is being thrown at him and indeed at.”
The statement also called on Sen. Saraki to “continue to busy himself with the legislative business and his novel projects, like the Youth Unemployment Roundtable he just recently had with various stakeholders and other pro people policies.
“We applaud the appellate court for this decision which clearly vindicates Dr Saraki. Our judiciary has really come of age and Nigerians should view this as justice for democracy.
“While we implore the Senate President not to be deterred by whatever antics that is being thrown at him and indeed at democracy, we make bold to say that our Judiciary is key to ensuring the success of any democracy. And this decision by the Appeal Court is not only bold but progressive and responsive.”
