Celebration in A’Ibom as Gov Emmanuel gets second term

Youths who gathered at Ibom plaza waiting for the official announcement of governorship result by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) erupted into jubilation when the Peoples Democratic Party candidate and incumbent governor Mr Udom Emmanuel was announced as the winner.

The jubilant youths who to troop out en masse chanted victory songs in celebration of the result while mocking Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Major parts of uyo metropolis especially the ever bubbling plaza was a behive of activities as the youths and elderly danced into the night cause human and vehicular holdups in the capital city of Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel who won in all the 31 local government areas of the state garnered a total of 519,712 to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Obong Nśima Ekere who trailed behind with 171,978 votes.

Meanwhile the state collation Agent of APC,  Bishop Samuel Akpan has contested the authenticity of the result insisting that elections across the state was shambolic, bedeviled with fraud and malpractice therefore would never be accepted by the All Progressive Congress in the state.

The APC state collation agent called for the cancellation of the result.
