Celin Abdul thrills crowd @ gospel album launch

All roads led to Gospel Light Redemption Church, Karu, at the weekend as talented gospel singer, Celin Abdul, launched her maiden gospel album entitled “Your name is working for me amidst streams of jubilation and excitement.”
The six-track praise and worship album has the following hit tracks: Asiko, Worship You, Praise Medley, Jesus Your Name Is Working For Me, Baba Majenjiya and He Loves Me.

Speaking with Blueprint, the excited singer, who started singing at a very tender age as a Muslim girl, but later converted to Christianity, said: “God used my life as the basis of her inspiration. Most of my songs were written in the night. God put the words in my mouth and I know He is going to use these songs to set free those in bondage, especially those suffering from generational curses.”

She expressed optimism about the future of her music career, saying: “I will be a voice to be reckoned with in Nigeria. I want to be bigger. I want my voice to be heard beyond the shores of Nigeria.”
In his remarks, the General Overseer of the church, Rev. Isaac Oriakhi, appreciated the talent of the singer and encouraged her to continue
with her work.

Also speaking, the National Vice President, Pentecostal Fellowships of Nigeria, Bishop David Bakare, lamented the exit of gospel musicians from the church to take up secular music due to lack of support.
He said: “There are all manner of wonderful singers out there, who started in the church. Almost all great singers had deep roots in the church, but there is usually no one to encourage them in what they do.”
