CHAN 2018: Libya appoint Al-Marimi as new Coach

The Libyan Football Federation has appointed Omar Al-Marimi as the new head coach of the national team ahead of their participation at the 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco.
The Mediterranean Knights who won the CHAN in 2014 will face the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Rwanda and Equatorial Guinea in Group C at CHAN 2018.
Al-Marimi will lead the Mediterranean Knights at the CHAN, and according to reports in the Libya Observer, results in the competition designed for players plying their trade in their countries’ domestic leagues will determine the possibility of him continuing in the position or not.
The LFF earlier on December 14 announced the appointment of former Egypt national team captain Hani Ramzy as the new handler of the team but rescinded the decision four days later and didn’t offer any reason for their action.
Libya drew 1-1 against Jordan in a pre- CHAN friendly game in Amman on Monday.
