The All Progressives Congress, FCT chapter has appointed Hon Usman Abubakar Chekene (Dan-baba) as the new caretaker committee chairman of the party in Kuje area council.

Hon Chikene’s appointment followed the suspension of Hon Godwin Z. Poyi as the APC chairman in Kuje area council.

He explained that the party executives had worked out modalities for ensuring the victory of the APC in the elections.

He maintained that the leadership of the party in Kuje will ensure that members of the do away with the burden of suspicion in the conduct of the chairmanship election come February 2022.

He disclosed that the party’s problem with the former chairman, Hon. Poyi was that, he wanted to foist a chairmanship candidate on the party, a development that the party rejected.

Hon. Chekene also added that the crisis presently rocking the party in the area was only a phase that would soon fade out, saying with the party change in leadership he would ensure the unity of the party members across the ten (10) wards in Kuje area council.

He called on party faithful to ignore the pranks of those he called “reactionary forces” whose intention, he said was to distabilise the party.
