Jose Mourinho-tutored side have been shopping for legs to strengthen their attack which they believe is the team’s major problem and the Nigerian hit man is considered as a material for the job.
Turkish sports newspaper, Fanatik, reported that the Blues had been closely linked with Emenike, who is currently plying his trade with Fenerbahçe in Turkey, last summer and have been keeping tabs on the Nigerian international this season.
was reported that the Eagles’ bully striker had received the news with elation, and hoping that the deal sail through.
“I have always dreamed of playing in the Premier League,” Emenike said. “If I get the opportunity to play in England I wouldn’t turn it down.”
But despite wanting a Premier League move Emenike recently revealed that he is happy at Fenerbahçe.
“When I joined Fenerbahçe, my goal was to win the league and that became a reality,” he said in an interview with AMK.
Tottenham, Arsenal and Zenit St Petersburg have also been scouting Emenike whose current club claims now worth 20 million pounds.
Emenike has been in impressive form for Nigeria in the World Cup and has 10 goals in 21 internationals.
The 27-year-old rejoined Fenerbahçe last summer from Spartak Moscow for €13 million and scored 12 goals in addition to 9 assists this season.
