Child dedication: Politicians, entrepreneurs honour former Ebonyi council boss

The saying that, in politics, there is no permanent friend or enemy came to the fore as politicians across party lines gathered to celebrate with the family of former Technical Adviser to the state governor on Agriculture and former Chairman of Afikpo North local government area (LGA), Hon. Obinna Agha Gerald, on the dedication of his son, Master David Agha Gerald.

The event, which took place Sunday, June 23, at Christ Ascension Church, Ngodo, Afikpo, Ebonyi state, attracted who-is-who in Ebonyi politics, businessmen, academicians and the crème de la crème in society.

Those in attendance included renowned politician/ legal practitioner, Barrister Mudi Erhenede, deputy leader of Ebonyi State House of Assembly (EBHA), Hon. Ikoro Kingsley Ogbonnia, member representing Afikpo North East constituency in EBHA, Hon. Ngozi Lilian Eziuloh, Chairman Afikpo South LGA, Barr. Eni Uduma Chima, wife of Chairman Afikpo North LGA, Mrs Janeth Nnenna Oko Enyim.

Others are; Arch. Eddy Eleje, Barrister Igbo, renowned entrepreneurs and Chiefs Ogbonnia Okogwu, Fidelis Nnachi Inya (Emmafids), Tom Gadas, Ukie Ezeali, former Special to former Chairman of Afikpo North LGA, Hon. Ogbonnia Nwachi, candidate of Alliance for New Nigeria (ANN)in the 2019 Afikpo North East EBHA election, Hon. Iheukwumere Okogwu Otu.

In a statement made available to Blueprint in Abuja, the Public Relations Officer to the Chairman of Afikpo North LGA, Mr Suny Nkama, said the occasion was worthy of celebration as Hon. Agha was a meek leader during his time as chairman of the council.

“In fact, it was a roll call. Hon. Gerald Obinna Agha served as Executive Chairman of Afikpo North LGA from 2007 to 2010. He’s universally known as a meek leader with a good heart, while the wife is a definition of godly virtues. I congratulate them on the beautiful outing yesterday and wish them the best in life. To God be the Glory,” he said.

The huge turnout and gathering of politicians/ entrepreneurs at the event may not be unconnected with the joys of the Obinna Agha family, who were blessed with a baby boy in March, this year, after more than a decade of marriage that produced three daughters.
