Children’s Day: Aregbesola reiterates love for education

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola, has reiterated his commitment to children education as he gathered about 1,700 public school pupils in the state to commemorate the 2018 Children’s day with calisthenics display.

Speaking at the Osogbo city stadium, Aregbesola said his administration would not relent in promoting education of children.

He recalled that his government has provided enabling environment for pupils to learn in the state, maintaining that children are the future of tomorrow.

Aregbesola said the state of the art schools, built across the state, are testimonies that he values education. He boasted that his school feeding programme has been adopted by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government.

He said the realisation of the need for children to move with the technology advancement, propelled the distribution of tablet of knowledge, “Opon Imo”, for secondary school students.

Aregbesola, who also commended teachers for their endurance and understanding during the paucity of funds, he lauded them for putting more efforts in giving the best to the students.

He advised parents to complement efforts of the government and the teacher by providing adequate learning materials for their children.

He congratulated the children who he addressed as “Kekere akin” (young braves), assuring that he would not relent in providing good education for students.

The calisthenic, which was colourfully displayed by the pupils was witnessed by Prof. Isaac Adewole, Minister of Health, and other top government functionaries.
