China: Lawandi Datti emerges ANSIC president

Mr. Lawandi Ibrahim Datti, has emerged President of the Association of Nigerian Students in China (ANSIC), election committee chairman Aliyu Salisu Abdullahi, has confirmed.

The committee chairman, Mr. Abdullahi, of the Nanchang, Hongkong University, Jiangxi Province of China, made the confirmation via WhatsApp message.

He said the election was held under the supervision of the ANSIC national interim committee, with strict observance of the Covid-19 protocols.

“The format of election was strictly online through the association’s website by delegates from various local associations chapters.

“The election was organized online due to the current pandemic situation,” he said.

Mr. Abdullahi said, the election was held pursuant to article 11 section 22 subsections 22.5 and section 11.24 of the newly amended 2020 ANSIC constitution.

According to him, Mr. Lawandi Ibrahim Datti, a PhD student at Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, in Fuzhou China, emerged as President, Mr. Babangida Aliyu, was elected as General Secretary and Mr. Ahmed Tijjani Musa emerged as Treasurer.

He added that, Amina Suleiman Kamsalem emerged as PRO while Zitta Nanpyal Selchak was returned as Assistant Secretary General.
