Chinese coy to open fibre cement plant in Abuja

A Chinese building material and structural engineering company, Sinoria FABCOM, has concluded plans to open a fibre cement board manufacturing factory in Abuja, FCT.

Sinoria FABCOM, which is part of the Chinese global giant, Sinoma, has been manufacturing stone coated roofing sheets in the last three years at its industrial complex in Kuje, a suburb of Abuja.

According to the Managing Director of the company, Liuxing Wang, who took some journalists round the complex in Kuje Abuja, the new line of production would be the first of its kind in the West African sub region.

“Just as Sinoria FABCOM is the first company of its kind in Nigeria and the whole of sub Saharan Africa, that manufactures stone coated roofing sheets, we will also become the first to commence the production of fibre cement board in this country,” he said.

Wang noted that abundance of raw materials in Nigeria and success the company recorded in the production of stone coated roofing sheets as well as high demand for the product motivated Sinoria FABCOM to diversify to the manufacture of fibre cement board.

“Our stone coated roofing sheet has been very successful in the Nigerian market in a short period of time. Our products are manufactured in this facility here in Kuje with locally sourced raw materials.

“We have been able to set ourselves apart from the rest; our product is the best in the market today as a result of the quality which our customers attest to.

“The new line of production of fibre cement board is a follow up to the tradition we have established for ourselves which is based on quality and customer satisfaction.”

Mr. Wang commended the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari for creating the right atmosphere for the industrial growth of the country, noting that within the next decade Nigeria stand the chance of becoming an industrial giant.
