Christian group wants FG to secure boarding school children

By Usman Ibn A. Lapai Kaduna The Congress of Northern Nigeria Christians (CNNC) has called on the federal government to take proactive measures to secure boarding school girls across the region.
Media and Publicity Secretary of CNNC, Larry Yammai, made the call at its maiden conference which held in Kaduna.
“While appreciating government’s timely intervention and release of the Dapchi school girls, it is worthy to note that the experience is a worrisome signal that abduction of school girls can happen just spontaneously,” he said.
According to him, private schools have gained prominence in the educational system in the country with fees beyond the reach of parents and advised government to do something about the trend.
While speaking on government’s achievements in various sectors, Yammai applauded the agricultural programme of the federal government, adding that there was need for research and extension services for farmers to enhance their productivity.
He said there is however the need to ensure all rural farmers genuinely involve in agricultural programmes and incentives meant for them adequately enhance productivity.
Speaking further, he disclosed that the group was gladdened by the successes recorded by the Nigerian military against the Boko Haram but called for the rescue of the remaining Chibok school girls.
CNNC is a registered body of all Christians in the 19 Northern states and the FCT, inaugurated in November, 2017.
