Chukwu bemoans loss of Rangers legends

Former Super Eagles gaffer and presently, consultant to Rangers International F.C, Christian Chukwu (MFR) is still in shock over the death of two founding members of the club, Ernest Ufele and Luke Okpala.
In a chat, the most successful captain of Rangers said that he was still in shock at the news of the passing on of dependable defender, Okpala, which got to him while watching the Rangers clash against Warri Wolves in the league match in Enugu.
“I am still to come to grip with this sad news on the death of Luke Okpala ‘Jazz Bukana’. I just can’t believe that my great friend and former team mate is no more. When I got to hear of the sad news at the stadium, I was so stunned that I could not even remember how the game ended,” said the NFF technical committee member.
The former Super Eagles handler said further: “We are still trying to come to grips over the loss of Ernest Ufele who passed on some three weeks back and then this new one. It is very painful but we have to give God all the glory for lives well spent by these two great footballers and administrators.”
Both players were in the 1974 league and cup winning squad for the ‘Flying Antelopes’ that had such names as Emmanuel Okala in goal, Christian Chukwu, Joe Azinge, Joseph Uwanaka, Francis Nwosu, Alex Nwosu, Harrison Mecha, Stanley Okoronkwo, Nwabueze Nwankwo, Ogidi Ibeabuchi, Francis Ikeogu, Matthias Obianika, Kenneth Abana and Emeka Onyedika under coach Godwin Achebe.
