Chukwu extol Nworgu over coaching progress

Legend of the round leather game and former captain and coach of Nigeria’s senior national team, the ‘Super Eagles’, Coach Christian Chukwu (Mfr), has showered praises on one of his former players, Chukwudi Nworgu over his progression in the managerial aspect of the game.

Chukwu, in an exclusive chat in Enugu, described the news of Nworgu’ success in the game and further progression in the management of the game was heart-warming while challenging him to be steadfast in his application of the rules of the game to achieve great success.

Chukwu who worked with Nworgu’ in the senior national team described him in nice words stressing, “Chukwudi, during his time in the national team, showed signs of leadership both on and off the pitch. He does whatever task that was assigned to him with diligence. Since he left the shores of the country, I never knew he was quietly building himself in the game. I am happy to see his progress.”

The vastly travelled gaffer further said, “At least we have more qualified hands that can take over from the current crop of coaches and help discover and develop budding football talents that abound the length and breadth of our country.”
‘Chairman’ as coach Chukwu is fondly referred to by his admirers stated that he still remembers some of the games Chukwudi featured for the Super Eagles of Nigeria like the international friendly encounter against Brazil in Abuja, the CAN 2004 qualifier against Malawi in Blantyre where the game ended in a draw just as the encounter against Angola was also memorable stressing, “Chukwudi displayed his rugged self in these games and really impressed and I am not surprised he is where he is now.”
