Clergy urges Christian faithful not lose hope in prayers

A clergy, Reverend Maxwell Onyia,  Sunday urged Christian faithful not to lose hope when praying, saying God answers prayers.

“God throughout history and today, with abundant testimonies, has not failed those that put their trust in Him,” he said.

Onyia, who is the Priest-in-Charge of Anglican Church of Ascension, Enugu, made the remark in a homily he delivered at the church.

The homily was titled:“File your petition before God that answers prayers’’.

He said most times, Christians carry their burdens alone without going in prayers before God.

He stated further that we have an advocate and mediator that cares, and He is ever ready to intervene in all our life affairs for the better.

“God is always faithful to His words and promises; but the problem is with men, you and I, we refuse to see God’s very big capacity to shoulder our burdens effectively.

“He is still the same today and this moment; He had not changed and will never change.

“He is the Lord of lords, He stands tall and great for all those that trust in Him,’’ he said.

Onyia also urged Christians to stop all acts of vengeance.

“The Lord Himself says vengeance is mine and he knows the best way to recompense everyone,’’ he added. (NAN)
