Cleric tasks FG on poverty, injustice

The federal government has been urged to address the challenges of poverty and injustice in order to end the spate of violence in the country.
Rev. Willie M. Sada of the Church of Christ Mission (CCM), Kuje, made the call at the weekend while speaking to Blueprint, noting that many people had become disillusioned with the system because of lack basic necessities of life.
The cleric, who spoke on the challenges of mission and evangelism, as well as other problems confronting Christians in the country, said the “message of peace and safety cannot be effectively passed across when the basic human dignity is lacking.”
According to him, unjust structures and marginalisation of the poor majority are the cause of suffering and violence in our land.
He charged the Christian faithful in their various capacities, both in government and private sectors, to lead the campaign for a corruption free and just society where governments would provide for the needs of their people.
