Cleric urges govt to stop interfering in justice dispensation

A  cleric, Rev. Father Paul Frank  has  called on government at all levels to stop interfering in the activities of the judiciary to enable them dispense justice as spelt out by  the country’s constitution.

Dr. Frank made the call at a special service held at  First ECWA Church , Lokoja, Sunday as part of activities slated for  2020/2021 legal year in Kogi state.

The cleric in his sermon titled :”Be prepared, be at alert”, held that the present predicament that befell Nigeria as a nation need surgical operation , adding that it is only the judicial arm of government that can salvage the country if allowed to perform its  function.

“It is obvious that the hope of reconciling Nigerians lay in the hands of the judiciary. We need a situation where people are equal before God,” he said.

He lamented that the influence of the executive arm of government over judiciary has hindered the smooth dispensation of justice. He called on government at all levels to do the needful  in the area of full autonomy.

While praying for the success of the judiciary in 2020/2021 and beyond, the cleric enjoined judicial officers to always involve God in whatever they do , adding  that one day, they would be called upon to give account of their stewardship on earth.
