Cleric urges politicians on equity, fairness

A cleric, Rev. Dr. Istifanus Koce, has advised political office holders to adopt equity and fairness in their relationship with their neighbours, in order to safeguard the fragile peace in the country.

The senior Pastor of ECWA Good news, Area II, Kuje, FCT Abuja who stated this in an interview with Blueprint,  observed that, selfishness and insensitivity of political leaders was responsible for the trauma the citizens are suffering from today.

“This issue of growing campaigns for breakups and restructuring of the

country by several ethnic groups is fallout of the greed and insensitivity of our political leaders,” he noted.

The clergy however said God has destined Nigerian to be a united, great African nation where other countries of the world would come to take refuge, stressing that we need patience and commitment to keep the hope alive.

He urged Nigerians to reflect and rejoice on the miracle of bringing

together more than 250 ethnic groups together, saying: “God does not make mistake”.

Koce then appealed to Nigerians, especially members of the ruling class to do everything humanly possible to cement the unity of the nation to enable

Nigeria tap its God-given blessings and abundance.

He also called on religious leaders to pray fervently for the proper direction of the nation’s leaders, stressing that, religious leaders must be very active in directing our political Leaders with prayers for wisdom, the enthronement of peace and stability in the country.
