Commercialize greenfield real estate portfolio to increase FDI – Expert

For Nigeria to generate foreign exchange, overcome the problem of liquidity in the system, the country needs to have inflows of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) through wholesale listing of its corporate assets, liberalising infrastructure and commercial isation of greenfield real estate Portfolio.

An Economists, Mr Ayo Teriba who made the statement in Lagos while addressing participants at the Economic Associates(EA)one- day quarterly conference on Nigeria’s Economic Outlook said Nigeria needs to initiate policies that would boost its FDI and remittance inflow in a sustainable manner.He said that such initiative would enable the country to attract huge capital inflow that would enable it  record some level of domestic liquidity, stability, inclusiveness, diversified growth, shared prosperity and national cohesion post pandemic.

While insisting  that the only way Nigeria could achieve this sustainable growth is through  privatisation of public assets and subsequent listing on the stock marke,  he said that  listing of these companies on the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) would helped to improve the depth of the capital market and create wealth for the people.
