Community policing key to progress – Jikwoyi residents

Residents and stakeholders of Jikwoyi under the Jikwoyi Police Divisional Headquarters have stated that community policing at the grassroots is key to growth and development.

Speaking on the #Endsars protests during weekend, the outgoing Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Jikwoyi, CSP Abubakar Salihu Adamu lauded the leadership and stakeholders in Jikwoyi for their prompt intervention during the protests.

He said the community ensured that a bad situation did not generate to a worse scenario by putting their wards under control during the protests.

He gave assurance that the activities of criminal gangs in Jikwoyi under the Abuja Municipal Area Council, have reduced drastically and attributed the development to the effective monitoring of the surveillance team of the Nigerian Police Force in collaboration with the community leaders of thought, stakeholders and traditional rulers.

He specifically mentioned the support by the Commissioner of Police of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Bala Ciroma in terms of logistics and deployment of men of rank and file for effective policing.
