Concerned Kogi workers drum support for Jibrin Usman

Ahead of November 16 governorship election in Kogi state, a group of Civil Servants under the aegis of Concerned Kogi Workers Forum, have endorsed the aspiration of Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (retd) as the next governor of the state.

The group also warned against any attempt to foist Governor Yahaya Bello on Kogi People stressing that such an action “would amount to further shortening the life span of workers in the state “.

In a statement as signed by the spokesman of the group, Hassan Abdul, which was made available to newsmen in Lokoka on Sunday, Abdul appealed to the national secretariat of the APC that ” as workers who bear the brunt of Governor  Bello’s misrule, another opportunity given to him by the APC would mean reducing our lifespan”

The workers disclosed that the forum is made up of workers who were arbitrarily sacked, some who have also been cleared by Governor Bello’s screening committee, yet have not been paid for over thirty months, said another opportunity for the APC to present him for another term would mean the party does not mind their welfare and survival of the people of Kogi state.

The Concerned Workers lamented that never have Kogi state civil servants experience hardship as they were presently experiencing in the hand of the current administration noting that many workers have suffered  untimely death while others are unable to meet family obligations.

The Workers say who pointed out that they do not have grouse with President Mohammadu Buhari and the APC, said  having restated their plights and sufferings caused by Gov. Bello’s insensitivity to payment of salaries and workers welfare, fielding him against the collective wish of the Concerned workers would mean the APC and the presidency does not mind if Kogi workers live or die.

The Concerned Workers say their support for Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman rtd was borne out of their conviction that if elected as governor, he would make salaries and welfare of workers a priority.
