Conduct LG poll or resign, PRP stalwart tells Masari

A former state assembly aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Hon. Hamish Yusuf (Sa’in Jibiya) has urged Governor Aminu Bello Masari to resign if he cannot conduct the local government elections.

In press statement made available to Blueprint in Abuja, Yusuf said the people of the 34 local government areas of the state were in critical hardship and poverty and needed attention at the grassroots, which only local government administration could offer.

He said Katsina state, having produced the present president of the country in the person of Muhmmadu Buhari of the APC, ought not to deny the people of good leadership at the local government level.

He said, “the governor of the state has denied us of our constitutional right at third tier of government and financial autonomy.”

He also said, “Katsina people cast over one million votes in each one of the two general election won by APC during the 2015 and 2019 general election respectively but the people of the state are now suffering in the hand APC government, no genuine development in the state and rural area of the state.”

He called on the honest people that can sacrifice their health, time and comfort such as Sen. Abdu Umar Yandoma, Sen. Sadik Yaradua, Dr. Dangiwa Umar, Prof. Aliyu Jibiya, and Abubakar Abba Bello to team up and save the state from starving.

He also call on the Katsina people to be extra careful when electing their representative in local, state and federal government, saying Governor Aminu Masari has spent about six years in power without local government election and financial autonomy to local government.

“If you want to travel to Jibiya from Katsina a journey of forty kilometers but it takes you up to one and half hours due to several checkpoints on the road because of the problem of security we are facing in the area,” he said.
