Confab: Minister’s aide urges residents to maximise opportunity

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been called upon to take full advantage of the opportunity presented by the National Conference.
Senior Special Assistant to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory on Political, Budget and National Assembly, Sen. Jibrin Wowo, made the call while interacting with journalists.

Acording to him, the opportunity is very important as it has given a wide scope of interests for Nigerians to discuss the development of the nation.
Wowo said the various development challenges, ranging from social, economic and regional, could be brought to the fore for the people to analyse and find solutions to them.

He noted that the conference would address the various pains of all groups and would serve as a renewed launching pad for various kinds of development negotiations that would certainly grow the nation.
He commended President Goodluck Jonathan’s courage in organising the conference.

He said: “This is an act of great courage by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and his administration to put the nation on a focused path of peaceful negotiation of various interests for the common good. This is democracy in action as the President has created a much desired opportunity for Nigerians.”
He said most of the issues that had constituted national challenges could be discussed for the good of Nigerians at the conference for a unity consensus.
“The national conference is for us as Nigerians to have opportunities to discuss our affairs, as they affect us with a view to address them for our collective good. There is no other way to resolve contentious issues based on wrong perception from various sides without discussing them with an open mind to get a middle ground for all to thread on safely.”
