Confluence Bridge Lokoja to gulp over N49bn, governor says

Over N49 billion is expected to be injected into the construction of the Confluence Bridge, Lokoja, in Kogi state under Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Governor Idris Wada, who disclosed this yesterday in Lokoja while receiving the management of WALCOTT Nigeria Limited, the contractor handling the project, said the bridge was expected to link Ganaja in Ajaokuta local government council to Shintakun in Bassa local government council of the state.

He said the project would be supported by the state government in conjunction with WALCOTT and some financial institutions, adding that the project, if completed, would improve the socio-economic activities of the people.
He noted that the bridge would open up for the development of the state, stressing that it would serve as a huge advantage to develop Lokoja as a modern state.

The governor stressed that government would support the project with solid political will, adding that as a government it believed in the project.
“I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the project is completed in 36 months projection by the company,” he said.
Earlier, the Managing Director of the company, Mr. Christopher Esiah, who led the delegation, said they were proud to partner with the Wada administration to bring the proposed bridge to a reality.
