Congrats Shehu Pambegua

The election of Engineer Shehu Yunusa Pambegua as member Kaduna state House of Assembly, representing Kubau local government is greeted with jubilation. Being a direct beneficiary of the “Not too young to run law”, Engineer, as fondly call by friends and political associates, is fully prepared to take Kubau local government to greater heights. Kubau local government has suffered from poor representation in the last two decades. The former members who represented the area performed below expectations. The poor performance could be attributed to lack of deep knowledge, experience and in ability of the members to rub minds with the constituents on the problems affecting the local government. Moreover, just to put it mildly, the former members were not fully ready for legislative works. No wonder, their several years in the state assembly failed to attract any benefits to the good people of the local government. That is the reason many electorate described them as seat warmers who cannot add value to the lives of not only their constituents but also the state in general. It is in view of this leadership failure that compelled the people of the area to beam their searchlight for a credible candidate.

Luckily, the good people of Kubau local government found Engineer Shehu Yunusa suitable for the job. The graduate of electronic engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi accepted the clarion call and threw his hat into the ring. Initially, he contested for the position of chairmanship of the local government but lost at the primary election. The failure to clinch the APC ticket did not discourage or deter him from pursuing his legislative ambition. His doggedness and resilience helped him to emerge victorious at the party primary. At the just concluded gubernatorial and state assembly election, Engineer was overwhelmingly voted and declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having polled the highest number of votes. He defeated Muntaka Bashir Zuntu of PDP who became distant second.

The victory of Engineer Yunusa Pambegua did not come to many as a surprise. Firstly, he vigorously campaigned to all the nooks and crannies of the local government. Secondly, his programmes or manifestoes endeared him to the youths. Engineer promised to sponsor bills that will better the lives of youths in the area. His desire to provide scholarship to the poor students in the local government also contributed to his success. Your election will spur development in the local government. I wish you God’s guidance as you strive to take the local government to the next level.
