Congress: No petition from Kwara – APC

The Congress Appeal Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kwara state chapter has said that it has not received any petition against the recent ward congress election conducted in the state. Speaking during a courtesy visit to the state Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, the chairman of the committee, Hon. Osita Egwuatu, who said they were in the state to hear election petition that might have arisen from the last Saturday state congress election, confirmed that the committee has not received any complaint against the congress.

Accordingly, Governor said the state will continue to strengthen the party in order to give it the much desired support that will ensure victory and sustenance in power at the national level. He said the outcome of the exercise was a reflection of the internal democracy and unity amongst party members.

“The successful ward, local government and state congresses were largely due to the peaceful environment and most importantly the inclusive process that the state party system allows”. He said the inclusive style of the party allows for ventilation of diff erences and amicable resolutions noting that the appeal committee is not unlikely to receive petitions but may not be a genuine one.
