Conor McGregor takes private jet to Liverpool for Grand National before UFC star’s nightclub appearance

Conor McGregor makes no secret of his extravagant life away from UFC and he has lived up to his reputation by travelling in style to watch the Grand National. Th e Irishman, who has been linked with a spectacular boxing showdown with the retired Floyd Mayweather, headed to Aintree for the horse racing showpiece. He posted several pictures on his Instagram account after he and his entourage boarded a private jet to Liverpool on Saturday morning. Even Dana White, UFC president, who was previously thought of as an obstacle to negotiations, has spoken of his desire to get it done. White is keen to reward McGregor for everything he has done to raise the profi le of the UFC by allowing him to take on the biggest name in boxing.

Th ough the fi nancial particulars still need to be ironed out, Mayweather is thought to want the fi ght as much as the Dubliner. And it seems the Irishman is intent on making the most of his spare time – if his recent social media activity is anything to go by.

In one snap, McGregor, wearing a black tracksuit and white trainers, posed on the plane’s wing and captioned the post: ‘C MAC G MOTHERF****R’. After arriving in Liverpool, the UFC star travelled in a Rolls-Royce with a friend, who made a rude gesture with his middle fi nger in another social media post.

McGregor attended the Grand National with his group of friends before he will make a guest appearance at the Mansion nightclub in the city centre. Meanwhile, a fi ght between McGregor and Mayweather – two of combat sport’s most brash and talented protagonists – now appears to be an inevitability.

Th e recent announcement from the Nevada Athletic Commission that they would have no issue sanctioning a fi ght is the latest in a series of incremental steps towards a deal being struck.
