CONVID-19: 7 on compulsory self-isolation in Kogi

The Kogi state Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna Audu on Tuesday disclosed that seven persons have been placed on compulsory self-isolation against the dreaded coronavirus pandemic.

Audu, who stated this in Lokoja while giving an  update on the spread of the disease in the state, said those on self-isolation would be monitored for a minimum of 14 days to ascertain that they did not have the symptoms of the disease.

He added that the seven people have had previous history of travel to CONVID-19 high risk countries within the last one month.

According to him, five of the self-isolated persons are from Lokoja, one from Ajaokuta and one from Okene.

The commissioner added that, so far, confirmed case still remained zero in Kogi state, urging the residents not to entertain any fear or panic, assuring that the state government will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the disease does not enter the state.

He charged the people of the state to adhere to the precautionary measures as advised by the state government.

Meanwhile, the state government on Tuesday morning shutdown Lokoja International market as a measure to curtail the virus and protecting the people.
