Corps members’ allowances not used to settle bandits – NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has said that the news currently circulating among corps members and the general public that corps members’ February monthly stipend will be paid at the end of March, 2021, because the fund appropriated for their allowance had been used to settle bandits was fake and a figment of imagination of some mischief makers.
The NYSC management therefore, advised the general public to disregard the misleading information.

This was contained in a statement made avaiblable to Blueprint by  the Director-General of NYSC, Brig-General Shuaibu Ibrahim, Sunday.
“Management enjoins all to disregard in its entirety the story which is the handiwork of mischief makers,” the statement reads in part.
General Ibrahim advised the originators of the falsehood to refrain from such criminal action, even as he charged corps members to always rely on information provided on the NYSC platforms, stressing that the safety and  welfare of corps members tops his cardinal agenda.

“The welfare of Corps Members shall continue to be accorded top priority by the Scheme,” the statement said.
