Corruption: Buhari needs prayers to succeed – Cleric

Religious leaders have been urged to intensify prayers while preaching moral values that would assist the federal government succeed in the fight against corruption.
The serving Overseer of the Lighthouse Ministries International, Abuja, Pastor Shola Adesoye, stated this at the weekend while addressing over 250 pastors in a non denominational conference in Minna.
Adesoye described the war against corruption as a necessary measure towards the development of the nation and commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the success so far recorded.
He said, “Religious leaders, both Christians and Muslims, should begin to preach moral values in Churches and Mosques so that people will have the fear of God in their conduct. This will go a long way in achieving more successes in the government efforts at fighting corruption.”
He described the conference organised by the Strength Ministers Outreach as being timely particularly at the time the country needed prayers for God’s intervention in solving national problems.
Also in a remark, the serving overseer of the Great House Ministries Minna, Pastor Joshua Jeremiah, said the conference was aimed at training ministers of God in ensuring peaceful co-existence of the people.
Jeremiah said Christians and Muslims must learn to be their brothers’ keeper, adding that as religious leaders, the peace and unity of the nation should be paramount in our agenda.
