Corruption: ICPC trains 300 students in Jigawa

In order to discourage corrupt practice among youth in Jigawa state, the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has trained 300 secondary schools students across the state.

The event which took place at at Dutse Model International was tagged ‘shun corruption is evil’.

Speaking, the head of the ICPC team, Umar Inuwa, told reporters that the gesture was to catch them young and acquaint them with the knowledge and help spread the information about the evil of corruption that is ravaging the societies.

He said ICPC is using it three throng approaches, which include enforcement, preventive as well as public enlightenment and education approach, to train the students.

“Education and sensitization remain one of the veritable ways through which the citizens are enlisted in order to foster public support against corruption,” he said

He added that the “essence of training the students is equip them for the future role they are expected to play in the society, which is inculcating sound moral values such as honesty; integrity; patriotism; contentment; fairness and discipline respectively,” he said.
