CoS: Council of ulama, emirate professors hail Buhari’s choice

The Council of Ulama (Islamic scholars) in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara state, has expressed gratitude to President Muhammad Buhari for appointing Prof Ibrahim Gambari as his chief of staff.

The council thanked President Buhari for putting a square peg in a square hole, describing Gambari’s appointment as well- deserved.

In a statement signed by its chairman and the chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Salihu, the council expressed confidence in the ability of Gambari to justify the confidence reposed in him by President Buhari.

The council of Ulama felicitated with Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the Emir of Ilorin, Alh Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari over Prof Gambari’s appointment.

It prayed Allah to grant both President Buhari and the new chief of staff a successful reign.

In a related development, the Ilorin Emirate Professors Association (IEPA) has asserted that the new Chief of Staff to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, got his new job because of his reputation as an incorruptibility and unblemished character over the years.

The union, in a statement by its Chairman, Professor Suleiman A. Kuranga, described the appointment as a” well-deserved one considering the wealth of experience of Prof. Gambari, who is certainly one of our nation’s most resourceful and stainless Professors and Diplomats.”

The statement reads further, “The association is grateful to President Mohammed Buhari, GCFR for finding the renowned scholar and illustrious son of Ilorin emirate worthy of being appointed to this exalted position in his administration.

“The association notes that the President must have opted for Prof. Gambari because of his diligence, integrity and reputation as an international bureaucrat as well as his incorruptibility and unblemished character over the years.

“The association also notes that the appointment couldn’t have come at a better time than now in view of the fact that the nation needs someone who is well grounded in diplomacy, international politics, global economics and corruption-free to provide the needed link and resources that can galvanise edge-way for the country at this time.

“The association is also greateful to His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, and His Royal Highness, the Emir of Ilorin Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, CFR, on the appointment of Prof. I. A. Gambari as the Chief of Staff to the President. 

*The association prays to the Almighty Allah to give the new Chief of Staff to the President the wisdom and good health to discharge his duty efficiently, diligently and uncontentiously for the benefit of our nation, Nigeria.”
