Justice Peter Lifu of a Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, Osun state, Wednesday, convicted two persons, Oyelude Opeyemi (23) and Babalola Adeolu (25) for internet fraud.

In separate charges, the prosecution from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission ( EFCC), Mr. Sulaeman Basheer, alleged that Opeyemi presented himself as J. C. Grey to dupe an Americana and thereby committed an offence.

He told the court that the two were arrested at Osogbo sometimes in June 2019.

Momoh Yinusa said  the Investigative Police Officer (IPO), 820USD said  laptop, car and LG TV were recovered from Opeyemi, while iPhone 6, small Nokia and 120USD recovered from Adeolu.

The duo pleaded guilty and opted for plea bargain after the restitution of their loots.

Their counsel, Mrs Elizabeth Abiodun, prayed the court to be merciful saying their parents have engaged them in apprenticeship.
