Court grants 22 Shi’ite protesters bail

Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of Mabushi, CSP Adamu Saidu Mu’azu, has said the “situation policemen have found themselves in the discharge of their duties calls for commendation and not condemnation.” He said the task of securing lives and property was not an issue that will be regarded as a common thing, but should be appreciated by both the government and individuals. Mu’azu in a chat with our correspondent on Monday, said: “People should begin to ask some questions on how the police succeed amidst the pains associated with its operations, especially at the local level.
The way police operate nationally and locally should be the concern of all, with even the view of trying to support them in area that will boost the security of lives.” He called on individuals and relevant stakeholders at all levels to start “thinking how better they can assist the police to sustain their operations.” According to him, police activities will be enhanced if additional measures are put in place to encourage output.
