Court remands 2 persons over alleged armed robbery

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court has remanded two persons in Ilesa Prison over alleged armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
The defendants, Bayo Ajisafe, 27, and Wale Makinde, 29, are facing a three-count charge bothering on robbery and conspiracy, but their pleas were not taken as they had no legal representation.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, had told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 13, at about 7:30pm, at Dagbolu area, Temipola Petrol Station, Osogbo.
Oladoye said they conspired with others at large, to rob two persons, Abayomi Owoade and Adeyemi Sheriff, of their cell phones, ATM cards, voter cards, and N350,000 cash.
He said guns and assorted charms were recovered from the defendants when their hideout was raided.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Awodele, ordered the defendants to be kept in prison due to the magnitude of the alleged offence committed.
Awodele adjourned the case till April 27, for the mention.
