Court remands 2 persons over ‘robbery’

An Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court, yesterday, remanded two persons in Ilesa Prison over alleged armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms.
The defendants, Bayo Ajisafe, 27, and Wale Makinde, 29, are facing a three-count charge bothering on robbery and conspiracy.
Their pleas were not taken as they had no legal representation when their case was called.
Police Prosecutor, Inspector Joshua Oladoye, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on January 13, at about 7:30pm, at Dagbolu area of Osogbo.
He said they conspired with others at large, to rob two persons, Abayomi Owoade and Adeyemi Sheriff, of their cell phones, ATM cards, voter cards, and N350,000 cash.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olubukola Awodele, ordered the defendants to be kept in prison due to the magnitude of the offence allegedly committed.
Awodele adjourned the case till April 27, for the mention.
