Court remands 20yr old for alleged cultism in Osun


A 20-year-old man, Lawal Ibrahim, has been remanded in Correctional Center by Mrs Modupe Awodele of an Osun state Magistrate Court for alleged cultism. 


The prosecutor, Mr. Idoko John, alleged that the defendant committed the purported crime on January 1, 2020 at Aromole area, Osogbo. 


He was alleged to have conspired with others, now at large, to inflict matchet cut injury on one Lukman Isola. 


The defendant who was alleged to also belonged to unlawful society known as “Lions Boys”, pleaded not guilty to the four count charges bordering on conspiracy, unlawful society and occasioning assault. 


His Counsel, Mr. Kunle Ayemoyin, urged the court to admit him in bail, noting that the family of his client had responsible for the hospital bill of the victim and efforts are on to settle the matter. 


Magistrate Awodele thereby ordered him to be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to January 28, for bail.
