COVID-19: Companies donate N5m to Gombe

The Likari Ventures in collaboration with Agro Mall and Young Ranchers Nigeria Limited has donated N5 million to Gombe state to government as part of its contribution to fight the spread of coronavirus in the state.

Presenting a cheque of N5 million, Tetmosol medicated soap and Zinom hand sanitizer worth N2 million to the chairman Gombe state Covid -19 Taskforce Committee, Prof Muhammad Idris, Wednesday, the Managing Director of Likari Venture and Emir of Akko, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Atiku, said the donation was part of  effort of the companies to support the government and people of the state in curtailing the spread of COVID-19.

He said the state government has demonstrated its commitment towards preventing the spread of coronavirus adding that it was  necessary to make the donation to complement government effort in fighting the disease.

“As indigenes of the state, we want to offer our help to the people and government to have better control and fight against coronavirus.

“From my company and our partners, we are offering as Tetmosol Medicated Soap and Zinom hand sanitizer worth two million naira and apart from that, we are donating three million naira to the government when the committee visited my palace last week,” he said.

Also speaking, the chairman of the committee Prof Muhammad Idris, commended the Likari Venture and two others companies for their assistance which he described as timely considering the impact of the disease.

He urged all spirited individuals and corporate organizations to channeled all donations to the state Taskforce on Covid-19

He expressed confidence that efforts being put in place by governments at various levels would help in curtailing the spread of the disease in Gombe state and the country in general.
