COVID-19: Islamic leaders donate N2.5m to Ogun govt

The League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun state on Thursday donated the sum of N2.5 million to the State government to support its fight against the spread of Coronavirus.
The Wakeel Muslim for Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Sheikh Iskeel Awwal handed over the draft cheque to the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele in Abeokuta, the State capital.


Shiek Awaal said, Muslims in the State are ready to cooperate with the government in preventing the spread of Coronavirus in the State.
His words, “We are here to donate N2.5 million to the Ogun state government. We commend the government for its outstanding efforts in combating COVID-19.”
“We pledge our loyalty to fully cooperate with the government on the fight against Coronavirus.”


The Deputy governor while receiving the cheque promised to be transparent and accountable for every gift and donation the government  received in the fight against COVID-19.
She maintained that the government was doing everything possible to ensure the safety of the people of the State.
